We are currently in search of, compassionate, energetic, team oriented, and self-motivated individuals to take on Treatment Counselor positions on a per diem capacity. We participate in a Trauma Informed Integrated Care approach in order to create best possible outcomes for our youth.

- Promoting and assisting youth with self-help skills in the areas of nutrition, hygiene, and problem solving.
- Willing to work a minimum of 10 hours a month
- Modeling and supporting positive youth development and positive behavioral self-management through praise, mentoring, and attention.
- Facilitating psycho educational groups on campus and out in the community.
- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree; or
- Have obtained a valid Child Development Teaching Permit; or
- Have completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, Foster and Kinship Care Education, or Psychology and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with children
- The 100 hours of on-the-job experience may be completed after starting employment at the facility. Pending completion of the 100 hours, staff shall not be counted in the staff to child ratio and shall not be left unsupervised with children.
- Have a valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with children.
- Have a valid vocational training certificate, credential, or documentation demonstrating that the individual is a trade journeyperson who instructs children in vocational skills and have at least 100 hours of experience working with children or adults as a mentor, athletic coach, teacher, vocational coach, tutor, counselor, caregiver within a residential setting or other relevant experience as determined by the department; or
- Previously been employed as a full time staff or served as a volunteer at a group home, short-term residential therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program for at least one year.
- Have relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health or juvenile justice systems as a consumer, mentor, or caregiver, or life experience with children who have experienced high levels of trauma, or other relevant experience as determined by the department.
