Position

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) responsible for providing nursing care and support to individuals receiving services from McKinley. The role involves traveling to satellite offices in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties to provide direct support to clients and program staff. The LVN/LPT plays a key role in ensuring consistent care delivery across all locations.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $25.00–$28.00 hourly based on experience.

Education and Experience Required
  • Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • 3–5 years of mental health service experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
  • Maintain competency in Basic Life Support (BLS) following American Heart Association guidelines, with BLS course completed every 2 years and AED training included
Computer and Office Skills Required
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, other office‑related software, and Internet competency
Physical Skills Required
  • Pass pre‑employment physical examination, tuberculosis test, and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites on campus
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, and providing mobility
  • Visual and auditory acuity required for responsibilities
  • Manual dexterity required for using tools and technology
  • May be required to perform prolonged work at a computer for documentation, planning, and communication
Clearances Required
  • Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Child Abuse Index (CACI)
  • Insurability under Corporate Automobile Insurance
Description of Duties
  • Travel to satellite offices to provide direct care, obtain vital signs, educate about medications, and support MDs with medication management and court documentation
  • Serve as primary health services liaison between main office and satellite locations, ensuring communication and alignment on protocols
  • Provide direct care to clients in programs such as ORR, STRTP, school setting, and community mental health, focusing on emotional and psychological needs
  • Deliver mental health services within scope of practice
  • Work directly with clients who have special medical needs (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies)
  • Conduct educational groups on wellness, STI awareness, and sex education
  • Help clients understand procedures such as immunizations, blood tests, and examinations
  • Explain medication effects to clients
  • Write health summaries for each client as part of treatment plan
  • Maintain appropriate medical supplies
  • Assist staff with medication, first aid, and wellness education
  • Aid psychiatrists with court authorizations for medication and maintain records
  • Help team members understand the interrelation of physical and psychological needs
  • Review incident reports to safeguard client health and ensure HIPAA and FERPA compliance
  • Comply with all governmental and company regulations governing health services
  • Follow documentation standards and protocols for each program
  • Complete required county, state, federal, and agency documentation
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) plans as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
