JOB TITLE:
Classroom Paraprofessional Substitute (TK-1st Grade)
STATUS:
Part-Time, as needed
REPORTS TO:
Curriculum Coordinator
SITE:
Pandaland
- Assist classroom Teacher as directed
- Monitor & Supervise students indoors and outdoors
- Conduct student observations as needed
- Support education program through-out the school day
- Attend educational field trips as needed
- Implement classroom procedures
- Participate in all school emergency and safety plans
- Support all students in all learning activities
- High school diploma or GED
- 48 semester college units or 60 quarter college units or pass a pre-employment skills test with a score of 70% or better
- Currently enrolled in college if bachelor's degree not yet earned
- Proficient in reading, writing, and math
DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual:
English/Spanish - Degree in Education or related field
- Experience working in a primary classroom setting
- Experience with small group presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with staff, parents, and community
- $20.00 per hour
- Sick time accrual
Upon receiving an offer of employment:
- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan) with the Department of Justice (DOJ)
- Must provide a Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) clearance within 60 days of employment
- Will be assigned mandated state training to be completed prior to the first day of employment
