We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented EHS Assistant to support the Environmental Health & Safety team in maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of safety across all company operations. This role will assist with safety programs, policy implementation, environmental compliance, and incident response. The ideal candidate brings a proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to work in both office and warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with updating safety documentation, including JSAs, SOPs, and policies
- Support safety inspections for equipment and mechanical safety guards
- Help facilitate safety training programs on new procedures and policies
- Contribute to the implementation of EHS policies such as Haz Com, Powered Industrial Truck, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Fall Protection, and LOTO
- Participate in work-related injury investigations and monitor completion of corrective actions
- Conduct weekly and monthly inspections of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency showers, etc.)
- Assist with permit and compliance activities related to AQMD, CARB, stormwater, wastewater, and other environmental standards
- Maintain SDS program for chemicals used by maintenance, sanitation, and janitorial teams
- Inspect production and warehouse areas for hazards, noise levels, and unsafe practices
- Support Corporate Trainer with safety training for new employees
- Perform data entry and maintain documentation for compliance records
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure EHS compliance alignment
- Must be able to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and access various facility areas
- Remain familiar with company policies related to quality, sanitation, cGMPs, HACCP, and food safety
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, and EPA environmental regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information effectively to employees and leadership
- Must be flexible to report to different facilities as needed, occasionally on short notice
- Valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance meeting company requirements
