Safety Coordinator
Summary:
The Safety Coordinator supports the EHS Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. This role promotes a safe, healthy work environment across the San Fernando, Pacoima, and Los Angeles facilities.
- Assist in updating and maintaining safety documentation (JSAs, SOPs, policies).
- Conduct safety inspections for equipment, guarding, and facility conditions.
- Support delivery of safety training on new procedures and programs.
- Help implement key safety programs:
Haz Com, PIT, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Fall Protection, LOTO, and others. - Assist with incident investigations and follow-up corrective actions.
- Perform weekly and monthly emergency equipment inspections (fire extinguishers, first aid, eyewash/shower).
- Support environmental compliance, including AQMD, Stormwater, Wastewater, and CARB permits and reporting.
- Maintain SDS records for maintenance and sanitation chemicals.
- Enter production areas to monitor hazards, equipment, noise, and employee practices.
- Assist Corporate Trainer with onboarding safety training.
- Perform data entry and maintain compliance records.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure adherence to EHS policies.
- Follow company guidelines related to GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation.
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's in Occupational Safety & Health or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of hands‑on EHS experience.
- Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA regulations, and MS Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Valid CA driver's license with acceptable driving record; ability to travel between facilities as needed.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work in production/warehouse environments.

San Fernando, CA – Temp‑to‑Hire – Pay: $21–$24/hr DOE
