Pay

Rate: $58/hr

What’s a typical day as Sr. Product Development Flavor Chemist? You’ll be:
  • Analyzing, developing, and improving new and existing products, utilizing both existing and new raw materials.
  • Calculating cost analyses for all developed products.
  • Directing the evaluation and testing of product prototypes and providing supervision to R&D Product Development Chemists and Lab Technicians as needed.
  • Creating master formulas, compounding instructions, and revising product specification sheets.
  • Communicating with customers’ technical staff to define and meet requirements, providing technical assistance and on-site support during first productions.
  • Organizing guidelines and procedures for outgoing samples, and supporting QC and Production departments on new product launches.
  • Training R&D Product Development Chemists and ensuring timely response to sample requests in the absence of the R&D Product Development Manager.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field (required).
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chemist, especially in product development and R&D within Food and Beverage.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, research, and laboratory skills.
  • Excel in problem-solving and critical thinking, with a proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Have supervisory or management experience (preferred).
  • Are able to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
  • Capable to conduct sensory testing of products, including visual evaluation, aroma assessment, and taste testing.
