The Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting will lead all aspects of revenue recognition and related accounting activities, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and supporting the company’s growth, operational scalability, and reporting requirements. This role partners closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, FP&A, and Systems teams and serves as a subject matter expert on complex revenue transactions.
Key Responsibilities Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting- Own revenue accounting policies and ensure compliance with ASC 606 and applicable accounting standards
- Review and approve customer contracts, amendments, and non-standard deal terms for proper revenue treatment
- Lead analysis of complex arrangements including multiple-element arrangements, variable consideration, contract modifications, and usage-based revenue
- Prepare technical accounting memos and support conclusions for audits and internal stakeholders
- Oversee monthly and quarterly revenue close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Ensure accurate revenue reporting in the general ledger and financial statements
- Maintain and enhance internal controls related to revenue processes
- Act as primary point of contact for external auditors on revenue-related matters
- Partner with Systems and IT teams on revenue system enhancements and integrations (e.g., ERP, billing, Rev Rec tools)
- Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability across revenue workflows
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and data validation
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue accountants and managers
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, and Billing to align revenue accounting with business operations
- Provide guidance and training to non-finance stakeholders on revenue implications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience with deep revenue accounting expertise
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience with complex revenue models
- Prior experience in public accounting and/or public company or PE-backed environments
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (Net Suite, Oracle, SAP) and revenue tools (Rev Pro, Zuora, or similar)
- Proven people leadership experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally
- SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business experience
- IPO readiness or SEC reporting exposure
- Experience scaling revenue processes in high-growth environments
