Financial Services Audit Manager – San Francisco, CA
Compensation range: $170,000 – $250,000. Base compensation plus a bonus program based on individual and firm performance, and a competitive benefits package. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors including the position, location, and candidate qualifications.
Responsibilities- Lead or supervise the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to provide world‑class client service.
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, seniors, and supervisors, and promote open communication with the engagement partner.
- Collaborate with engagement team seniors, supervisors and partners on client issue resolution, and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory or accounting issues arising during an audit engagement.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines efficiently.
- Create and track engagement budgets, reviewing for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit.
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license.
- At least 5 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills with familiarity with US GAAP.
- Exceptional client‑service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the firm well to client management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project‑management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments.
