Director, Revenue Accounting

As the Director, Revenue Accounting, you’ll own one of the most critical areas of financial reporting for a rapidly growing healthcare company. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, build scalable revenue processes, and lead a team that ensures accurate reporting under ASC 606. This is a high‑visibility role with direct impact on strategic decisions, operational execution, and external reporting.

• Lead all aspects of revenue accounting, including month‑end close, analysis and reporting, controls considerations and technical accounting under ASC 606.
• Oversee contract review for revenue recognition implications.
• Lead and mentor a team of two revenue accountants, providing coaching and professional development.
• Partner with Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Operations to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls to support scale and operational excellence.
• Support external audits and reviews.
• Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects.

• Become a subject matter expert in Virta’s business model, revenue streams, and contracts.
• Develop strong working relationships with key cross‑functional stakeholders (Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations).
• Assess current systems and processes and propose improvements for scalability and accuracy.
• Take ownership of the revenue reporting process and implement improvements on revenue reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA with strong technical knowledge of ASC 606.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with at least 3+ years focused on revenue accounting.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, public company environment.
• 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and developing talent.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and controls.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally.
• Comfortable working in a fully remote setting.

Compensation for this role is a base salary in the range of $175,088–$200,100, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Information about Virta’s benefits is available on our Careers page.

As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA.
