Construction Accounting Manager

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 per year

A growing and well‑established construction organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and support the financial success of complex construction projects throughout the Bay Area.

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and month‑end close.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Review and analyze project financial performance, job costs, budgets, and WIP schedules.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and construction accounting practices.
• Lead account reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders on forecasting and financial performance.
• Assist with cash flow management and financial planning.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while improving processes and efficiencies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Construction, real‑estate development, engineering, or project‑based accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, and project financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems commonly used in construction environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• CPA or CPA‑track candidates encouraged to apply.
