Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a growing organization in San Francisco, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger transactions.

+ Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.

+ Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies.

+ Assist with preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.

+ Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other day-to-day accounting activities.

+ Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules.

+ Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation.

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

+ Identify process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency.

+ Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.

+

Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

+

Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, Sage Intacct, or similar.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.

+ Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

+ CPA or CPA candidacy is a plus, but not required.
