Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a growing organization in San Francisco, California. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger transactions.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other day-to-day accounting activities.
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency.
• Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
