Tax Preparer

The Tax Preparer is responsible for preparing accurate and timely federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and business entities while ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. This role partners closely with Tax Managers, CPAs, and clients to gather financial information, prepare tax work papers, and meet critical filing deadlines during the busy tax season. The ideal candidate is experienced with complex individual tax returns, proficient in Pro System fx Tax, and able to manage a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex individual (Form 1040) tax returns, including returns with K-1 income, Schedule C businesses, Schedule E rental properties, investment activity, and other supporting schedules.
• Prepare tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, corporations, trusts, and nonprofit organizations as needed.
• Review client financial documents to ensure tax returns are complete, accurate, and compliant with federal and state tax regulations.
• Utilize Pro System fx Tax to efficiently prepare, review, and process tax returns while maintaining high production and quality standards.
• Research tax issues and assist in resolving client questions related to tax filings, deductions, credits, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate with clients regarding missing documentation, filing requirements, and tax return status to ensure deadlines are met.
• Support Tax Managers and Partners during peak filing seasons while maintaining accurate work papers and documentation for review.
