Nonprofit Accountant (Part-time

POSITION OVERVIEW

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a part-time Nonprofit Accountant for a mission-driven nonprofit organization supporting impactful programs.

This is a remote opportunity for an organization based in San Francisco, CA (preference for candidates in California working on Pacific time).

In this position, you will support full-cycle accounting operations, payroll processing, and financial reporting.

• Competitive hourly pay of $35-42/hour, depending on experience

• Process payroll and support payroll-related functions using Paycom
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation
• Maintain accuracy of financial data and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Support accounting operations using systems such as Quick Books and Ramp
• Collaborate with the team on ongoing accounting initiatives

• Experience in payroll processing and accounting operations
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as Paycom and Quick Books
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

This temporary opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of $35-42/hour, depending on experience, with a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week. The assignment is anticipated to last approximately 3 months, with potential for extension. This role provides valuable exposure to payroll, accounting operations, and audit support within a respected nonprofit organization.
