Job Overview
Withum’s Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. The Life Sciences Audit Supervisor role will be based in San Francisco, CA, and you will work alongside an integrated team of seasoned CPAs and industry leaders. You will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion.
Responsibilities- Lead the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review, or compilation engagement to provide world‑class client service.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, seniors, and supervisors and promote open communication with the engagement partner.
- Collaborate with team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution, making recommendations for legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
- Create and track engagement budgets, reviewing them for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit.
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members on evaluations, providing counsel accordingly.
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA license, or working toward CPA certification with parts passed.
- At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the firm well to client management.
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Compensation in San Francisco ranges from $120,000 to $160,000. Additional benefits include a competitive benefits package, a bonus program based on individual and firm performance, and travel allowances when required.
