About the Role
You will lead the accounting function at Office Hours. As our first internal accounting hire, you'll take the reins from our external accounting agency and establish the function in-house. You'll have full ownership over the systems, processes, and controls you put in place. You'll decide how the books get closed, how reporting comes together, and which tools power it all. It's a chance to build accounting at Office Hours exactly the way it should be built.
This role can either be remote from Boston, or hybrid from our San Francisco or New York Offices, 2-3 times per week. Please note, fully remote candidates must be based in the Boston area.
What You'll DoAccounting Operations: Own the daily, monthly, and annual financial close processes, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Internal Controls: Design, implement, and scale financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets.
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate, timely monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for management review.
Compliance & Tax: Manage local, state, and federal tax filings, regulatory compliance, and support annual external audits or reviews.
Process Scaling: Evaluate, select, and implement modern financial tech stacks and automation tools (e.g., ERPs, expense management, billing software).
Cross-Functional Support: Partner with operations and department heads to support initiatives and data needs.
What You BringExperience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a high-growth startup or fast-paced tech environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) active license strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Online and other modern startup ERP systems, along with Stripe, Ramp, and strong Excel skills.
Mindset: Highly adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to roll up sleeves.

Full-time offers include base salary, equity, and benefits.
Pay range: {$140,000- $170,000}, based on seniority and relevant experience
