Senior Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support a Fin Tech organization in San Francisco, California through a Long-term Contract engagement. This onsite opportunity requires a strong, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage complex general ledger activity, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute during critical close cycles. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise with Oracle Fusion, a solid background in journal entries and reconciliations, and the ability to step into a fast-paced environment with confidence.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions across the general ledger.

- Prepare, review, and post journal entries while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation and accounting accuracy.

- Perform account and bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies to keep records current and reliable.

- Rebook accounting entries as needed to correct prior postings and align financial data with reporting requirements.

- Set up new entities within Oracle Fusion and confirm accounting structures are established correctly for ongoing operations.

- Maintain and analyze general ledger balances to support accurate financial statements and internal reporting.

- Partner with internal stakeholders to address accounting issues, clarify transactional activity, and support day-to-day finance operations.

- Assist with audit-related accounting work by organizing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to financial inquiries. Requirements - 3+ years of accounting experience with strong exposure to senior-level general ledger responsibilities.

- Demonstrated experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliation activities.

- Hands-on proficiency with Oracle Fusion, including Oracle Fusion Financials; experience creating new entities is required.

- Background in bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment.

- Understanding of accounting controls and reporting practices, with prior audit training or audit exposure preferred.

- CPA designation is preferred.

- Ability to work onsite five days per week in San Francisco, California.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a 3-6 month project assignment effectively.
