Senior Accountant (with Real Estate/Property Management experience)
Duties include but not limited to:
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering AP, AR, and GL transactions.
- Provide assistance with lower-risk P2P and treasury activities and own certain bank and other asset accounts monthly.
- Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close responsibilities and ensure team members are on track during close.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to improve processes and efficiency and support transformation and future-state projects.
- Ensure deadlines and controls are met in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage deliverables to external auditors for annual audits and quarterly reviews.
- Lead internal audit engagements and ensure compliance.
- Complete external audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
- Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related area.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus.
- Experience in accounting within the real estate or property management industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP, Quick Books, Net Suite, Xero, MYOB, and others.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to perform complex formulas and automate processes.
- Experience developing financial reports and metrics.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
- Superior attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Computer Processor:
Intel 8th generation or newer / AMD Ryzen 2000 series or newer. - Computer Memory/RAM:
At least 16 GB for both primary and backup computers. - Computer OS:
Windows 11 and future enterprise operating systems. - Storage: 500 GB SSD.
- Licensed MS Office and an extra monitor.
- Internet speed must be running on a 20+ Mbps wired plan, with at least 10 Mbps for the backup connection.
