This role will be central to the firm's fund operations and will offer meaningful exposure to investments, fund reporting, investor activity, and the broader business. The ideal candidate brings strong fund accounting fundamentals, enjoys digging into details, and is excited by the pace and variety of a growing investment platform.
You will work closely with internal leadership, the investment team, and outside service providers, while helping improve the processes that support the firm's continued growth.
What You'll Own
- Review fund administrator work across quarterly closes, NAVs, capital account statements, financial reporting, and supporting schedules.
- Track and account for investment activity, including new investments, follow-on investments, exits, valuation adjustments, interest, dividends, and fund expenses.
- Support capital calls, distributions, investor transfers, subscription activity, and related communications.
- Prepare and maintain schedules for cash, investments, management fees, organizational expenses, carried interest, and other fund-level activity.
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and responses to auditor requests.
- Partner with internal teams and external providers on fund launches, investment closings, valuation processes, and other fund-related transactions.
- Help maintain accurate investor records, fund documentation, and reporting calendars.
- Support tax reporting processes and coordinate with outside tax advisors on K-1s and other investor deliverables.
- Identify ways to improve reporting, documentation, and workflows as the firm scales.
What Will Help You Succeed
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of accounting, fund administration, audit, or related experience.
- Exposure to venture capital, private equity, investment management, real estate funds, or other partnership-based investment structures.
- An understanding of partnership accounting, capital activity, financial reporting, and fund operations.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems and large data sets.
- CPA progress or public accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
The Opportunity
This is a visible role within a collaborative firm that is building for its next stage of growth. The Senior Fund Accountant will gain broad exposure to the venture capital ecosystem, partner with experienced investment and finance professionals, and have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time.
