Senior Tax Accountant

Break Point Talent is a boutique search firm partnering with an established public accounting firm in Oakland, California. The firm serves a diverse client base with tax, audit, and advisory services, and the tax group works closely with owners, families, and closely held businesses across the Bay Area.

This is a seat with real client ownership. You will be the day-to-day contact on your accounts, not three layers removed from them, and you will get the review reps that move a career forward.

• Salary range of $85,000 to $125,000 depending on experience
• Hybrid schedule, three days in office and two remote

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
• Manage client relationships and serve as the day-to-day point of contact
• Research complex tax issues and provide technical guidance
• Mentor junior staff and review their work
• Assist with tax planning and projections
• Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients

• 3 or more years of public accounting tax experience
• CPA license or CPA eligible preferred
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance
• Experience with individual, partnership, S-corp, or trust taxation
• Proficiency in tax software such as CCH, Ultra Tax, or similar
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
