We are seeking a Staff or Senior Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced accounting team within a well-established retail organization. This is a temporary assignment covering a maternity leave, with an anticipated start date in late September and an expected end date in March 2027. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience working in an industry accounting environment.
Responsibilities- Perform general accounting functions, including debits, credits, general ledger activities, and consolidations
- Support day-to-day accounting and administrative accounting activities within a small, collaborative team
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, including creating and retiring assets and maintaining accurate asset records
- Utilize Oracle Fusion to manage fixed assets and track in-store development activity
- Support a high volume of retail activity, including approximately 30 store openings and significant acquisition activity
- Partner with the dedicated fixed asset team as assets transition through the accounting process
- Develop and document step-by-step operational procedures and accounting processes
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with other accounting projects as needed
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting activities are completed in a timely manner
- 2–5 years of professional accounting experience; no new graduates
- Industry accounting experience strongly preferred
- Big 4 accounting experience (KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, EY, etc.) is a strong plus
- Experience with general ledger and fixed asset accounting preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or another Oracle ERP system is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritize competing deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Retail accounting experience is a plus but not required
- Candidates with solely tax-focused experience will not be considered
Schedule: Monday–Thursday onsite;
