Job Summary
This Financial and Administrative Analyst will play a critical role in the day-to-day financial and administrative management for UCSF's School of Dentistry assigned department. Responsibilities include monthly, quarterly, and annual production reporting; submitting purchase orders through the School's Bear Buy system; processing reimbursements for students, faculty, and staff; and administering the reconciliation and records management process for the department. Additional responsibilities include preparing invoices, reviewing department deficit reports, reviewing the general ledger, submitting journal transfers, and pulling data for profit and loss statements.
The role also involves scheduling meetings, drafting meeting agendas and minutes, emailing important office communications to faculty and staff, and assisting with organizing events. The incumbent must work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, UCSF central offices, and outside vendors to ensure compliance with UC financial procedures and reporting.
The account management functions require knowledge and experience with fiscal policies and systems and a broad understanding of campus-wide accounting and budget principles. The administrative functions require knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities. The incumbent must have excellent verbal and written skills and demonstrated working knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Salary and BenefitsYour placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $27.83 - $59.15 (Hourly Rate).

- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 1-3 years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
- Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making.
