Job Description

This position will provide professional, accurate and comprehensive administrative support to members of the research, teaching, and clinical faculty in the Department of Pathology in the School of Medicine. The incumbent will be part of a team that includes Administrative Officers and Health Education Specialists at the Parnassus location.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to complex inquiries (phone/email) from internal departments and external organizations.
  • Conduct web searches on Pub Med for scientific journal articles needed for research.
  • Schedule and coordinate complex meetings and conferences.
  • Arrange complex travel itineraries.
  • Maintain complex service and faculty calendars.
  • Prepare and submit expense reimbursements.
  • Manage space surveys and physical inventories.
  • Assist with ordering/purchasing reconciliation and laboratory administrative tasks.
  • Provide occasional administrative support for inter‑department website and end‑user updates.
  • Manage the Mechanisms of Disease Grand Rounds Course and support the department’s facility management specialist with facility and space duties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience and training.
  • 1–3 years of related administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, communicate technical information to technical and non‑technical personnel, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and independent problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment with limited supervision.
