Position: Partner 6, Executive Assistant, Menlo Park

The Role

The Executive Assistant will support two executives and manage founder meeting scheduling for the Venture and Games partners. This is an opportunity to work alongside individuals driven by excellence and a passion for technology. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional communication and problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Daily responsibilities include calendar management, coordinating virtual and in‑person meetings, and travel arrangements. The role requires onsite presence in our Menlo Park and San Francisco offices, five days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Build and cultivate long‑term relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Handle communications, managing inquiries, executive and founder relationships, and high‑priority requests with discretion.
  • Provide proactive calendar management and complex scheduling in coordination with EAs across the firm, maintaining awareness of partner priorities and context to anticipate needs and be proactively helpful.
  • Support partnership meetings, including creating internal and external pitch meeting invites, securing conference rooms, and coordinating with IT ahead of in‑person meetings.
  • Organize executive travel for meetings and conferences.
  • Oversee small offsites and curated dinners, including venue identification, catering, program materials, and gifts.
  • Support team operations as needed, including managing the swag process and assisting with offsite logistics.
  • Manage team lunches for the extended team on in‑office days, including taking orders, delivering to desks, and accommodating varying headcounts.
  • Continuously improve administrative processes, anticipating needs, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall executive support.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of high‑level experience supporting multiple senior‑level executives.
  • Strong, responsible team player who thrives in a collaborative setting and works well within a matrixed environment.
  • Proactive, positive, personable with excellent communication skills and an upbeat, resourceful attitude.
  • Resilient, able to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work to deadlines.
  • Thrives in a fast‑moving, highly ambiguous environment.
  • Exhibits discretion, diplomacy, and excellent judgment; maintains a high degree of integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong calendar management and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Gmail, Google Calendar, Zoom, and AI tools.
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $149,000 and $165,000. Actual starting pay may vary based on experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program, discretionary bonus programs, and benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), vacation, and sick leave.
