Business Service Officer (Supervisor)
Under the general supervision of the Business Service Officer (BSO) II (Supervisor), the BSO I (Supervisor) oversees operations relative to staff in the Flexible Administrative Support Team (FAST), mailroom, and reception. The BSO I (Supervisor) coordinates office moves, facilities, administrative and technology services, serves as the Cal Card holder and reconciles monthly Cal Card statements, supervises work flow, assigns and reassigns staff, reviews and recommends changes to operating procedures, prepares manuals, maintains business service functions, establishes positive working relationships, facilitates procurement of equipment, determines supply needs, recruits and hires personnel, and ensures ongoing training.
This role may require driving, bending/stooping, carrying/lifting up to 40 pounds.
Partial telework and/or in-office options are available. Schedules are based on business needs and may be re‑evaluated as Department needs change.
Minimum Requirements- Position: BUSINESS SERVICE OFFICER I (SUPERVISOR)
- Salary: $5,429.00 - $6,719.00 per month (new to state candidates hired at minimum salary)
- Number of positions: 1
- A fingerprint check will be required.

- Submission of transcripts or diplomas may be required if education is used to meet minimum qualifications.
- Ability to inspire morale and provide customer service.
- Cooperative and tactful interaction with staff and management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Computer skills in Word and Outlook, and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Knowledge of office policies, experience developing SOPs.
- Professionalism under pressure.
- Good attendance and punctuality.
- Prior supervisory experience or lead capacity is desirable.
