We’re looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Public Relations Assistant to join our team in San Francisco.
This is a unique hybrid role for someone interested in building a career in public relations while also supporting the day-time operations of a founder-led business. You’ll work closely with all team members and across client accounts, gaining hands-on experience in media relations, client strategy, events, awards, and agency operations.
PR Responsibilities- Assist across KCPR client accounts and ongoing PR campaigns
- Maintain client PR trackers, media lists, and coverage reports
- Track journalist moves, media opportunities, and relevant industry news
- Research and draft media pitches and other PR materials
- Maintain awards, speaking, conference, and events calendars
- Research and submit clients for awards, events, speaking opportunities, and industry lists
- Take detailed notes during client calls and draft recap/follow-up emails
- Support media outreach, research, and special projects as needed
- Manage scheduling, appointments, reservations, and calendar coordination
- Help keep the office organized and stocked with snacks, beverages, and supplies
- Handle returns, pickups, drop-offs, and occasional local errands
- Assist with general organization and administrative projects
- Provide ad hoc support to the Founder as needed
You’re organized, polished, resourceful, and comfortable jumping between different types of tasks. You take initiative, communicate professionally, and notice the details other people miss.
The ideal candidate:
- College graduate
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Is comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Has strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Is interested in PR, media, venture capital, startups, and technology
- Is comfortable with a role that combines professional PR responsibilities with executive/personal assistant support
- Is based in San Francisco and available to work in-person
- $25-$30/hour, depending on experience
- Part-time, in-person position in San Francisco
- Direct mentorship and hands-on experience
- Opportunity for growth within KCPR for a high-performing candidate
