The Trade Business Analyst supports trade compliance and supply chain decision-making by translating business needs into clear requirements, structured data inputs, and actionable insights. The role focuses on scenario analysis, governance, documentation, and cross-functional coordination to deliver approved business cases and trade program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Analytics & Decision Support

  • Define problem statements, success metrics, and analysis plans for trade/logistics decisions.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis on costs, volumes, trade lanes, and channels.
  • Validate data quality, assumptions, and modeling outputs.
  • Develop trade/network visualizations and executive summaries.
  • Maintain reproducible analysis outputs and periodic data refreshes.

Requirements & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering.
  • Document assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and decisions with traceability.
  • Translate business needs into prioritized requirements or user stories.
  • Align with cross-functional partners (Trade Compliance, Legal, Finance, Ops, Network Design).
  • Communicate status updates, risks, and recommendations clearly.

Program Governance & Documentation

  • Manage run plans, milestones, RAID logs, and change control.
  • Maintain version control of models, outputs, and documentation.
  • Prepare standardized data request templates and assumption packs.
  • Publish regular stakeholder updates and executive readouts.

Trade Operations & Process Support

  • Track customs ruling requests and manage related documentation.
  • Maintain product profiles, classifications, and compliance data.
  • Support trade lane documentation and operational coordination.
  • Assist tariff mitigation analysis, cost/benefit tracking, and forecasting inputs.
  • Support process improvements, SOP updates, automation stabilization, and reporting.
  • Requirements and assumptions documentation with stakeholder sign-off.
  • Scenario analysis reports with risks, impacts, and recommendations.
  • KPI dashboards, status reports, and standardized data packs.
  • Maintained analysis repository and documentation.
  • Updated product profiles, ruling trackers, SOPs, and monitoring reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience in business analysis, trade compliance, logistics, or supply chain analytics.
  • Strong requirements documentation, stakeholder alignment, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL/BI tools, presentations).
  • Ability to synthesize insights into concise executive summaries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
