Business Development, Operations Manager
About The Role
Uber is building its next $1B+ growth engine in Catering and Large Orders. This role is for a high‑ownership operator who wants to help build that business from the ground up.
You will work at the intersection of marketplace strategy and hands‑on execution—identifying where the model breaks, determining what needs to be built, and helping scale the solutions that unlock growth. This is a zero‑to‑one to scale opportunity focused on building durable foundations, not just running projects.
The right candidate is energized by complex problems, comfortable operating with partial information, and motivated by seeing ideas turn into measurable business results.
What You'll Do- Identify structural marketplace constraints (supply gaps, quality issues, operational friction) and define clear action plans
- Launch and scale targeted initiatives to improve catering supply quality, depth, and differentiation
- Design and run pilots and experiments to validate new supply models, merchant value propositions, and operational approaches
- Build repeatable processes, playbooks, and performance metrics to support sustainable expansion
- Partner with Product, Ops, Sales, Finance, and Regional teams to operationalize solutions
- Monitor performance and course‑correct quickly based on data and real‑world feedback
- 5+ years of experience in a high‑growth, marketplace, consulting, strategy, or operations environment
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives from idea through execution
- Strong understanding of marketplace mechanics, including supply‑demand balance and unit economics
- Highly proficient in SQL with the ability to independently analyze data and extract actionable insights
- Structured problem‑solving skills and strong business judgment
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
- Experience contributing to the launch or expansion of a new product line or business vertical
- Merchant‑facing or commercial experience, including program rollout or adoption strategy
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and performance measurement
- Experience building new operational processes or tools from scratch
- Self‑starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
