Description

Join us at the forefront of Amazon's sustainability initiatives to work on environmental and social advancements to support Amazon's long term worldwide sustainability strategy. At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people.

The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon's scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.

The Sustainability Reporting, Enablement and Governance (S-REG) team's mission is to build a lasting, scalable and trusted sustainability reporting infrastructure to satisfy regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations. We translate external requirements into internal needs and build tools and mechanisms that enable Amazon businesses to meet their Sustainability reporting obligations and effectively manage their Sustainability risks and opportunities.

We are seeking  a detail focused, results-oriented and collaborative individual to support Amazon's global sustainability disclosure processes. Your work will help scale Amazon's regulatory reporting infrastructure and deliver high quality sustainability disclosures by partnering cross-functionally to understand Amazon's social programs and key metrics.

You will be responsible for preparing for compliance with emerging regulations, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and delivering Amazon's regulatory reports in a rapidly evolving global environment. This will involve establishing external reporting processes, assessing and collecting key metrics from partner teams, resolving reporting decisions, and drafting disclosures. You will work within Worldwide Sustainability and cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and Accounting and will present results to senior leadership.

To do well in this role, you must be able to confidently handle complex projects and provide a point of view in situations of high ambiguity. You must also show good judgment to continually improve Amazon's business model to develop robust and integrated reporting efforts and enhance emerging sustainability reporting best practices.

Key job responsibilities

- Evaluate emerging regulations and develop preparation plans.

- Execute reporting processes such as double materiality assessments.

- Design and implement enhanced governance mechanisms to ensure adequate oversight and control over sustainability reporting.

- Analyze Sustainability performance against key goals. Draft performance narratives in partnership with the Finance, Accounting, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Social Impact teams.

- Work with Worldwide Sustainability subject matter experts to develop precise disclosures of Amazon's calculation methodologies for voluntary and regulatory sustainability reporting. Ensure disclosures meet external assurance standards and provide stakeholders with clear explanations of the criteria and methodologies used to calculate key metrics (e.g., workforce demographics, workplace health and safety performance, diversity criteria, skills development, impact assessment results).
