Overview

Hub Spot Ventures is the global venture capital arm of Hub Spot and sits within the business’s Corporate Development group. The mission of Hub Spot Ventures is to accelerate innovation for Hub Spot and our customers by investing in world‑class startups within our ecosystem.

Hub Spot is seeking to add a member to our venture capital team to help us invest in and support remarkable software companies. We are a small team that is highly active, with a growing portfolio of 50+ companies that we support through connections to Hub Spot teams, technical advisory, support with GTM, and a strong network of founders and investors.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about startups and supporting founders through investing and hands‑on support and business development within Hub Spot. We are still a startup ourselves, so the ideal teammate is someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and working on problems of any magnitude.

• Conduct the sourcing and due diligence of venture capital investments, including competitive research, financial analysis, and memo composition
• Research and develop theses and insights about the B2B software market, identifying shifts and evolving trends in the Hub Spot ecosystem, as well as their implications for the business
• Work cross functionally within Hub Spot to envision and drive partnerships between our portfolio companies and Hub Spot
• Develop strong relationships with entrepreneurs and the broader venture ecosystem of VC investors and accelerators/incubators
• Interface with startup management teams and cross‑functional Hub Spot executives, including product, engineering, legal, and finance
• Support and lead projects to improve Hub Spot Ventures’ operations, portfolio benefits, external events, and communications

• 3+ years experience working within venture capital, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a high‑growth startup; software investing experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, communication, and analytical skills
• High autonomy with a track record of ideating and executing cross‑functional projects and partnerships
• A demonstrated passion for startups/entrepreneurship and emerging technologies

Cash compensation range:  –  USD Annually
