ABOUT THE SECTION
Established by the California state legislature in 2019, the mandate of the new Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA) is to create regional solutions that meet the Bay Area's affordable housing needs. BAHFA is one of the first regional housing finance authorities in California, with a focus rooted in the 3
Ps framework. Specifically: protection for current residents to avoid displacement, preservation of existing housing affordable to lower-and middle-income residents, and production of new affordable housing. The goal of this framework is to make sure housing is available for all Bay Area residents, no matter their income.
THE ROLE
The Doorway Listings Coordinator works with affordable housing owners, operators, and local jurisdiction staff across the nine-county Bay Area to draft and publish listings on the Doorway Housing Portal (DHP). This role manages listings for new developments undergoing full lease-up, as well as for existing buildings as units become available for re-leasing.
The Coordinator also supports key DHP processes related to pre-applications, including managing applications and administering housing lotteries. This work is critical to ensuring the DHP remains a valuable resource for both housing seekers and our professional partners, such as property owners and manager, and local cities and counties. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Onboard and train new partners
- Create and review listings for accuracy and compliance
- Publish listings on the Doorway Housing Portal
- Run lotteries and related audits in Doorway Partners Portal
- Publish lottery results
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partner users
- Support ongoing trainings with end user groups
- Provide feedback on Doorway Partners Portal product improvements, based on partner interactions
- Maintain a SharePoint listing activity guide to track work tasks
- Work in close coordination with the Doorway Partner Manager to manage the listings pipeline
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities listed. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education and ExperienceEquivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by college level coursework in planning, civil engineering, environmental science, business or public administration, or a related field. No experience is needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience working in affordable housing property management, regulatory compliance, affordable housing marketing, and /or web-based marketplace platforms.
Successful completion of a background check, professional references and the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.
