Job Title

Founding Community & Operations Lead

Salary

$80k–$120k + Equity

Company Description

The Relationship Company, PBC is a public benefit company building an AI-powered social platform for meaningful, in-person connection. Backed by the first investors in Facebook, Twitter, and Airbnb—including Mark Pincus and Elad Gil—they have achieved 10x Tinder’s match-to-date conversion and are on a mission to combat loneliness through technology.

Job Description

As the first community hire, you will bridge the gap between digital matches and real-world connections. You'll lead campus networks, organize high-impact events in San Francisco, and manage founder-level outreach. This high-leverage role combines event production, strategic growth, and operations, using AI tools to automate workflows while focusing on the human elements of relationship-building.

Location

San Francisco, USA

Why this role is remarkable
  • Work at a startup with proven PMF, boasting 10x Tinder's match-to-date conversion and better week 4 retention than every major dating app globally.
  • Benefit from a world-class cap table including Mar Hershenson and Andy Chen, who were early backers of consumer social giants like Slack, Notion, and Facebook.
  • Join a mission-driven Public Benefit Company dedicated to using AI to strengthen real-world relationships rather than just increasing screen time for infinite feeds.
What You Will Do
  • Scale the campus network by managing student clubs and executing cold outreach to expand the "Date Drop" platform to new universities across the country.
  • End-to-end event production for weekly San Francisco gatherings, including venue negotiation, marketing material creation, and on-site execution to ensure memorable experiences for attendees.
  • Conduct high-level Linked In and brand outreach on behalf of the founder to drive strategic partnerships, press coverage, and key recruiting initiatives.
The ideal candidate
  • Proven track record of organizing complex real-world events and navigating logistics challenges like venue cancellations or RSVP management with composure and speed.
  • Exceptional communicator who writes persuasive copy and feels comfortable building rapport with diverse stakeholders ranging from student leaders to bar managers.
  • Highly organized operator with strong executive function, capable of juggling multiple operational threads and using AI tools like Claude or Zapier to automate repetitive workflows.
