Role OverviewPuffy, a market-leading, nine-figure D2C brand and Top 5 US mattress brand with over $1
Billion in sales, is hiring a Senior Procurement & Commercials Manager. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on individual contributor role with platform evaluation as its primary focus and sole accountability for company wide vendor negotiations across software, shipping and logistics, agencies, manufacturers and other suppliers.
You own evaluation standards, negotiation strategy and portfolio visibility, leading renewal, consolidation, replacement and exit decisions within approved authority. You deliver evidence-backed recommendations, secure approval and execution by authorized signatories, and hand over agreed commitments to the implementation or service owner, with limited senior intervention. Department owners own adoption or service delivery, Finance validates economics, and technical, compliance and legal specialists review their areas.
TheProblems You'll Own
- Primary
:
Decide what Puffy actually buys:
Roughly 75-100 platform contracts run across the business, and new AI tools arrive faster than the old ones get retired. Each was bought by a department owner solving a real problem, which means overlap only becomes visible when someone looks at the portfolio as a whole. In a market moving this fast, the credible alternative to any renewal is usually something that did not exist when the contract was signed.
The problem is deciding which purchases are genuinely needed, and proving it with evidence rather than preference. - Secondary
:
Make the renewal clock stop being a surprise:
Every contract carries a notice date, and a missed one turns a decision into an automatic payment. The system that removes this is a single accurate view of spend, owners, usage, commitments and notice dates, with alerts that fire before the window closes rather than after. Built properly, the portfolio surfaces its own exceptions and the decisions arrive with time left to negotiate.

This is not a role where you raise purchase orders, chase signatures and keep a spreadsheet somebody else acts on. The scope is scarce: very few procurement professionals get simultaneous ownership of vendor evaluation, every commercial negotiation in the business, and the renewal and exit decisions across the whole portfolio, with a direct line to the CEO and no layers in between.
Your first 90 days: establish a reliable contract inventory, resolve urgent renewal risks, and agree evaluation priorities and turnaround standards with business owners. Take ownership of active platform evaluations and company wide vendor negotiations, delivering clear recommendations and closing priority commercial decisions. Partner with the AI team to activate automated portfolio alerts and establish a prioritized improvement plan, with…
