Job Description & How to Apply Below
Drive Centric, Inc. is hiring a Product Manager to fully own the Reporting product line, from the new reporting experience and phased rollout through legacy migration, dashboards and report building, and a data trust and freshness foundation. This role also sets an AI-native direction for reporting built on Databricks and presents the product roadmap to executives.
Reporting Product Ownership- Own the new reporting experience end-to-end, including phased rollout from early access to general availability.
- Manage cohort selection, define and apply a quality gate for when a phase is ready, and set launch sequencing.
- Determine what ships in each phase and defend the decision through product and customer impact.
- Own the customer-facing reporting roadmap used by CSM teams in the field.
- Lead dealer migration off roughly ten thousand ad hoc and bespoke reports in the old system.
- Develop and execute a real migration strategy, including programmatic conversion and dealer self-service migration tooling.
- Plan how bespoke enterprise reports built one at a time will be handled going forward, with an explicit goal to avoid building new bespoke reports.
- Own the dealer-facing analytics surface, including dashboards, drill-down, and scheduled delivery.
- Provide date range and attribution controls.
- Deliver a report builder that enables an operator to answer their own question without filing a ticket.
- Make packaging decisions, including what is included in the base product versus what is offered as a premium SKU.
- Partner with the data platform and engineering teams on the dimensional model and ETL cadence.
- Define freshness SLAs and report permissioning requirements.
- Set the standard for what “correct and current” means for reporting and maintain that bar without building the underlying pipelines.
- Define what Drive Centric reporting looks like with Databricks as the foundation.
- Sequence progress toward natural language exploration, agent-generated insight, and anomaly detection.
- Own the visual language of Drive Centric reporting, including which charts match the question being asked.
- Determine when a sparkline is more effective than a bar visualization.
- Design how to express period-over-period and store-to-store comparisons without relying on a spreadsheet.
- Define what funnel or cohort views look like for a dealership sales process and how drill-down carries context forward.
- Partner with design on a chart library and defaults.
- Ship visualization behaviors including color, density, and empty/loading states.
- Serve as the product face of reporting for GMs, BDC managers, controllers, and dealer group executives.
- Support internal CSM and support teams who field dealer questions, including running a customer advisory group.
- Be the most trusted voice at the company on what dealers actually need from their data, with expectation to be in dealerships.
- 3 or more years in product management, or a comparable path into product from analytics, data, implementation, or dealership operations where outcomes were owned and shipped.
- Automotive retail experience, including working at a dealership, dealer group, or a vendor serving them, with ability to discuss operational metrics such as closing ratio, gross, aged inventory, or BDC appointment set rate, and understanding differences between trusted and CRM numbers.
- Fluency with data products through work on or near reporting, dashboards, BI, or analytics; ability to read SQL, reason about a schema, distinguish data issues from UI issues, and pressure test engineering proposals.
- Migration and legacy instincts: experience moving customers off what they were comfortable with, recognizing migration as a product problem, and forming opinions on how to make the change worth it.
- AI shipping curiosity or history, including shipping AI-powered features or explaining how evaluation and output quality are approached, and what belongs in front of a dealer versus what stays internal.
- Clear writing, including specs engineers respect and launch notes that can be read by PMM and executives quickly (a writing sample will be requested).
- Operator energy, including moving fast, pushing back when needed, taking ownership without being asked, and treating the manager as a peer.
- Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor
- Databricks, SQL
- Natural language exploration, agent-generated…
