Job Details:
As a Special Project Manager for the SFO construction projects, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of one of the world's busiest airports. This role is an exciting opportunity to be involved in significant construction projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementing construction projects that are critical to the operational efficiency and infrastructure development of the airport.
This role requires a deep understanding of airside airport operations, paving, taxiway, and FAA regulations, and a strong ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with FAA regulations and standards.
2. Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that all project objectives are met.
3. Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of projects.
4. Review and approve project designs and plans, and ensure they meet all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
5. Handle any issues or delays that arise during the project, and find effective solutions to keep the project on track.
6. Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
7. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and standards, and promote a culture of safety on all projects.
8. Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in airport construction, and implement them where appropriate to improve project outcomes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree will be considered an advantage.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing construction projects, preferably in the airport or aviation sector.
3. Proven experience with airside airport operations, paving, taxiway, and FAA regulations.
4. Strong project management skills, with a track record of managing large, complex projects to successful completion.
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage diverse teams.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle any issues or delays that arise during the project.
7. Proficient in using project management software and other relevant tools.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all aspects of work.
