This is a full‑time, on‑site Inspector role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Inspector will perform daily field inspections on construction and infrastructure projects to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards. Responsibilities include observing and documenting construction activities, taking field measurements, preparing detailed daily reports, and communicating findings to project engineers, supervisors, and clients. The Inspector will coordinate with contractors and project teams to address issues in a timely manner, help resolve discrepancies in the field, and support quality assurance and quality control processes.
The role may involve travel to multiple job sites within the region, working in varying weather conditions, and maintaining accurate records and photographs of work progress.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports, and apply them to field inspection activities.
- Experience performing on‑site inspections for civil, geotechnical, structural, or related infrastructure projects, ideally including transportation, utilities, or building construction.
- Strong observational, documentation, and reporting skills, including clear written field reports, accurate recordkeeping, and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Working knowledge of relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations; familiarity with quality assurance/quality control practices is highly beneficial.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with contractors, engineers, and clients, and to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
- Capacity to work in the field under varying weather and site conditions, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting as required for inspection tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (such as ICC, ACI, nuclear density gauge, or similar inspection/field testing certifications) are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites within the San Francisco Bay Area.
