The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all field operations for public works paving, roadway, and highway construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily field operations for paving, roadway, highway, and related public infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, traffic control requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor project schedules, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Review plans, specifications, and project documents to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Conduct site meetings and communicate project updates to project managers, clients, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and cost impacts.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of superintendent or field management experience in public works, paving, roadway, or highway construction.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, grading, utility coordination, traffic control, and DOT/public agency requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license; OSHA certifications and relevant industry training preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Municipal, county, state DOT, and federally funded transportation projects.
  • Asphalt paving operations, road reconstruction, and highway improvement projects.
  • Management of multiple crews and subcontractors in active traffic environments.
