Project Coordinator

Representative tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Setting up, maintaining, distributing, and ensuring timely document return for all documents that pertain to the project to ensure procedural and contractual compliance both internally and externally.
  • Preparing, editing, and distributing required project documentation for construction meetings and communication in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reviewing and supporting the project team by having a thorough understanding of project drawings and subcontractor scope, inclusive of bulletins and owner scope changes. Preparing potential change orders and change order requests for review and approval by the project manager.
  • Reviewing requests for information (RFIs) with the project superintendent and distributing them to consultants for review and response. Following up on document return timeliness for distribution to subcontractors.
  • Distributing revised drawings and changes to subcontractors and tracking the return of pricing for review by the project manager/assistant project manager.
  • Coordinating with the project team to ensure a timely project closeout.
  • Coordinating with internal and external project team members to monitor the project schedule and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assisting in coaching, mentoring, and training new project coordinators and project administrators. Being familiar with, adhering to, and modeling company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the company's culture, mission, and values through thought leadership and actions.
  • Performing other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, and/or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience. Certificate in construction management required in the absence of a college degree and should supplement a degree in business administration or liberal arts.
  • Working knowledge of construction documentation and pricing.
  • Working knowledge of company software programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently organize work assignments and meet critical deadlines.

Experience:

1-2 years experience in the construction industry.

Physical demands and work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This employee generally performs this work in an office environment. The noise conditions are usually minimal to moderate. The employee may occasionally perform this work in an active medical care facility which may have more stringent requirements related to health and safety.
