Project Manager – Heavy Civil Structures

Salary range: $125K–$175K + Employee Stock Options + Car/Gas allowance + Full Benefits

A well‑established, employee‑owned heavy civil contractor with over 50 years of success across Northern California is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects — with a focus on bridge construction and structural concrete.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage heavy civil structure projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, forecasting, cost controls, subcontractor management, and procurement
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams on concrete placement, formwork, reinforcing steel, and bridge component installation
  • Lead project meetings with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Review drawings, specs, contracts, and constructability issues
  • Manage all project documentation — RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and reporting
  • Support estimating and preconstruction planning efforts
  • Ensure projects are executed safely and in compliance with QA/QC standards
  • Mentor Project Engineers and junior staff as needed
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience with bridge construction, structural concrete, or formwork strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of lump sum and unit price contracts
  • Ability to manage financials, schedules, subcontractors, and field coordination simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
Why This Role
  • Employee‑owned company with long‑term stability and a strong project pipeline
  • Collaborative, family‑oriented culture with high employee retention
  • Competitive compensation with meaningful long‑term upside through ESOP
  • High‑profile bridge and heavy civil work throughout Northern California
