Heavy Civil Project Manager

Our client is a well-established heavy civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex transportation infrastructure projects throughout Northern California. Due to continued growth and a robust backlog of work, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee major highway, bridge, and transportation projects.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through final completion. You'll work closely with owners, subcontractors, engineers, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Manage multiple heavy civil construction projects from award through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
• Lead contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with owners, public agencies, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee procurement of materials and subcontractor packages.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Monitor project performance, productivity, and financial outcomes.
• Support field Superintendents to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

• 5+ years of Project Management experience within heavy civil construction.
• Proven experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
• Background managing one or more of the following:
• Highways
• Bridges
• Roadway reconstruction
• Interchanges
• Earthwork
• Drainage systems
• Public works infrastructure
• Experience working with Caltrans, local municipalities, counties, or other public agencies is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, estimating, cost management, and contract administration.
• Experience managing subcontractors, field operations, and client relationships.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, HCSS, or similar construction software is preferred.
