Position Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical, administrative, and project management support throughout the lifecycle of commercial construction projects. This role serves as a critical link among field operations, project management, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with LWG Construction's quality standards.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about commercial construction.

Project Administration & Coordination
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects.
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, logs, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting agendas, notes, and follow-up action items.
  • Support procurement activities and material tracking.
Document Control & Project Documentation
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, ASIs, and project correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate project records using company project management software.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to identify potential conflicts or discrepancies.
  • Track and expedite approvals to maintain project schedules.
  • Maintain drawing logs and ensure field teams have access to current construction documents.
Construction & Field Support
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and assist with issue resolution.
  • Coordinate project activities between field personnel and office staff.
  • Support quality control inspections and project punch-list completion.
  • Assist Superintendents in managing subcontractor performance and schedule adherence.
  • Help identify and resolve project challenges before they impact schedule or budget.
Cost Management & Change Orders
  • Assist in preparing budgets, cost reports, forecasts, and project status updates.
  • Support preparation and tracking of change orders and subcontract modifications.
  • Review invoices, pay applications, and subcontractor billing documentation.
  • Monitor project costs and help identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Safety & Quality
  • Promote LWG Construction's commitment to safety excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Participate in site safety meetings and inspections.
  • Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with project specifications, local building codes, and permit requirements.
Project Closeout
  • Coordinate collection of warranties, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with final inspections, punch-list management, and turnover activities.
  • Ensure project records are complete and properly archived.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related job experience preferred or equivalent work experience.
