Job Summary
We’re seeking a Construction and Logistics Manager with heavy program‑wide coordination experience and strong knowledge of means and methods, safety, and site logistics solutions. The successful candidate will join a team of knowledgeable and supportive program and project management professionals to perform technical support of large Capital Improvement Programs, supporting a major capital program in San Francisco and coordinating day‑to‑day operations across active construction areas, stakeholders, operational constraints, and site logistics.
- Stay up to date on all active construction projects, including key logistical aspects such as mobilization, safety program, road closures and signage, equipment management and site security, work area access, laydown and staging areas, haul routes, utility interruptions, temporary way finding/signage, equipment movement, badging/access coordination, and maintenance of safe ongoing airport operations.
- Coordinate across multiple construction projects to identify and mitigate dependencies, constraints, and interfaces, while supporting phasing plans and minimizing impacts to airport operations, tenants, project teams, and the traveling public.
- Build strong relationships with clients, project teams, key stakeholders, and colleagues while maintaining composure in rapidly changing environments; adjusting priorities and approaches as needed to meet evolving demands.
- Prepare and deliver timely Project Awareness Reports to stakeholders, ensuring accurate communication to operations and program leadership.
- Monitor contractor logistics plans, traffic control plans, work sequencing, and access strategies to verify alignment with program requirements and operational constraints, facilitate coordination meetings, document key decisions and action items, and track logistics‑related issues, risks, and interfaces through resolution.
- Support review of shutdown requests, temporary closures, site utilization plans, and construction work packages to help maintain safe and efficient execution in an active environment.
- BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field with 10+ years of project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably supporting large, complex capital improvement programs in aviation, transportation, or similarly operationally sensitive environments.
- Extensive experience with construction project delivery and logistics, especially airport or airside/landside construction logistics, phased work in active facilities, and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders, field teams, contractors, and operational users.
- Skilled in resolving conflicts and diffusing tense situations, promoting a harmonious work environment, and managing competing priorities in high‑visibility project environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, document control platforms, and other client/project management systems.
- Experience interpreting construction drawings, phasing plans, logistics plans, and field coordination documents.
- Client‑focused, balancing project delivery goals with stakeholder needs, safety requirements, and operational continuity.
- Strong commitment to innovation, ethical conduct, and creating sustainable solutions.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration and consensus‑building within a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
