As a Project Safety Officer you'll join our collaborative team working on assignments within our client's tunneling and conveyance projects in San Francisco, California. We will rely on you to establish working relationships and provide visible Health & Safety support. You will utilize your leadership skills by providing interpretation, technical review and support, regulatory guidance and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the project HSE requirements.
You'll assist the Project Management team to review and provide comments on the project and site office Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and hazard assessments.
Responsibilities will also include:
- Develops, drafts and establishes safety procedures, requirements and training for the Program during construction.
- Reviews the CM Consultant's Health and Safety Plan as well as the Contractor's site-specific Safety Plan to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and locally accepted safety regulations and measures.
- Conducts regular routine site visits to each construction site to monitor, document and verify compliance with the Consultant's and Contractor's respective safety plans.
- Coordinates with the Contractor's Safety Officers to promote a safe environment for all workers, visitors to the project sites and the general public throughout the construction duration.

Here's what you'll need:
- 10+ years of full-time experience in a Health and Safety position
- Previous experience in construction and general industry environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
- Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skill
- Working knowledge in regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state, and local agency requirements
- Must be familiar with applicable local, state, and OSHA rules, regulations, and standards.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
- Certified Safety Professional certification (CSP)
- Current certifications as a Tunnel Safety Representative and as a Tunneling Gas Tester, issued by the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Occupational Safety & Health, Mining & Tunneling Unit

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
