Role Description The Construction Foreman is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, responsible for overseeing daily construction and maintenance activities on commercial properties. THIS WILL BE A BAGS ON POSITION. This role coordinates and supervises crews, assigns tasks, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. The Construction Foreman reviews plans and specifications, organizes materials and equipment, and collaborates with project managers, property stakeholders, and subcontractors to resolve on‑site issues.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include monitoring site safety, inspecting work for compliance with building codes and company standards, documenting project progress, and addressing any defects or punch‑list items. The role also involves mentoring team members, supporting continuous improvement of processes, and representing M5 Services professionally at client sites.

Qualifications

• Strong trade skills in carpentry and related construction disciplines, with hands‑on experience supervising field crews.
• Proficiency in quality control practices, including site inspections, adherence to specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.
• Experience operating or coordinating heavy equipment use on commercial job sites, with a focus on safe and efficient operations.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and team members, including clear documentation and reporting.
• Background or familiarity with civil engineering concepts as they relate to commercial construction, site work, and structural integrity.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team coordination, conflict resolution, and coaching less experienced workers.
• Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices; ability to enforce safety protocols on‑site.
• Comfort with basic project planning tools, work order systems, and digital documentation (e.g., tablets, smartphones, or project management software).
• Previous experience in commercial construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field; foreman or lead role experience preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA safety training) and a valid driver’s license suitable for local travel between sites.
