Overview

Job Summary

The Project Manager is a senior role responsible for overseeing projects from planning through completion. This includes mentoring junior staff, managing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and protecting the company’s financial interests.

Responsibilities
  • Train and provide guidance to Project Assistant and Project Manager I on tracking and compliance tools.
  • Plan and organize projects under the direction of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
  • Supervise and mentor Project Assistants and Project Manager I.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines.
  • Negotiate terms and supervise the preparation of all change orders.
  • Serve as liaison with primary client and architect/engineer to facilitate construction activities.
  • Support construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Anticipate, prevent, and resolve serious situations, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Direct preparation and negotiation of all change quotations for presentation to the prime client.
  • Prepare monthly costing reports under supervision of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts—including progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses—to protect the company’s interests and maintain client relationships.
  • Assist with the development of new business opportunities as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on the business unit’s needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project management role.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests amid changing priorities.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivation, proactivity, and teamwork.
  • Professional interaction skills with all levels of staff, vendors, and clients.
Travel

Up to 25% travel.

Working Conditions
  • Work on active construction sites; duties include sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending.
  • Work is performed primarily indoors with variable environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is typically low to medium; can be loud on a job site.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
  • Full compliance with ADA and state laws for reasonable accommodation of qualified disabled applicants.
