We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Project Manager to lead and oversee healthcare construction projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area
. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Healthcare construction experience is a requirement, and the individual must be organized and professional. They will effectively coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal project teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Manage healthcare and commercial construction projects from pre-construction planning through final completion and closeout.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and overall project execution plans.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, submittals, and schedules to identify potential issues and opportunities.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, change orders, purchase orders, payment applications, and financial reporting.
- Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to ensure construction activities are progressing safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
- Lead regular owner, architect, contractor (OAC), subcontractor, and project coordination meetings.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, project documentation, and other required records.
- Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, delays, and scope concerns in a timely manner.
- Coordinate inspections, permitting, testing, commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and provide regular updates regarding project progress, schedule, budget, risks, and key milestones.
- Ensure all work complies with contract requirements, approved plans and specifications, applicable building codes, OSHA requirements, and project-specific healthcare standards.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality control, safety, schedule performance, and client satisfaction.
- Manage construction projects in hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare facilities
. - Understand the unique requirements of construction within active and occupied healthcare environments.
- Coordinate project phasing, infection control measures, temporary facilities, utility shutdowns, and site logistics to minimize disruption to healthcare operations.
- Coordinate with facility operations, infection prevention teams, clinical departments, and other healthcare stakeholders.
- Support compliance with applicable healthcare construction requirements, including ICRA and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) where applicable.
- Coordinate with inspectors, authorities having jurisdiction, and facility representatives throughout construction and commissioning.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial, healthcare, or general construction
. - Proven track record successfully managing projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Experience managing projects of comparable size, complexity, and value.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. construction means, methods, contracts, scheduling, cost control, and project administration.
- Healthcare construction experience is required
- Experience working in occupied or operational healthcare facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of San Francisco and California building codes, permitting processes, and construction requirements
. - Familiarity with California and Bay Area construction practices and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with construction management and scheduling platforms such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software
. - Strong understanding of project budgets, change management, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred or required based on project requirements.
