Position Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Journalist (MSJ) to join KPIX‑TV in the San Francisco market. The role involves crafting community‑focused stories for broadcast and digital platforms, engaging audiences across social media, and delivering high‑quality video content.
Responsibilities- Develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news content for on‑air daily newscasts.
- Pitch vetted stories reflective of the community.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community sources.
- Produce content for Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites.
- Work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- SAG/AFTRA union membership required.
- Experience with broadcast‑grade video production (shooting and editing).
- Strong social media presence and ability to produce shareable stories.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems quickly, and handle multiple tasks.
- Flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- College degree in Journalism/Communications/Broadcasting preferred (equivalent experience acceptable).
- Minimum of 4 years MSJ/television reporting experience preferred.
- Ability to shoot and edit broadcast‑quality video for television newscast and digital platforms.
- Knowledge of Broadcast ENG camera, lighting, audio, and Live U.
- Team player able to work under deadlines.
Hiring Salary Range: $ – $. The range applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay depends on location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
