FENNIE+MEHL Architects | Senior Interior Designer, Corporate Interiors Position Overview
Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for handling professional design activities across a wide variety of project types and lead staff, as well as assist senior leaders in production, project management, client management, and related responsibilities. The position is responsible for handling a wide variety of project types and complex professional design activities, including predesign, programming, visioning, spatial planning, materials, finishes, detailing, FF&E, lighting specifications, and code requirements.
The role includes contributing to project delivery, drawing details, modeling, rendering, construction documents, CA, and leading and supporting business development activities and firm operations.
The Interior Designer will communicate and collaborate closely with senior management and firm leadership, clients, staff, consultants, vendors and contractors. The position is a solid platform for personal career growth and supports the studio’s overall success and growth.
Organization, creativity, and the ability to remain pragmatic with a proven foundation in design concepts and principles, practices, and construction are key factors we are looking for. Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills will lead to success in this role. - Interior Designer with 7-10 years minimum professional work experience with a focus on Corporate Interiors.
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in interior design or architecture.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Proficiency in Enscape, renderings, CAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, MS Office tools and Bluebeam Revu.
- Contribute to producing conceptual and fully executed designs with strong creative design ideas, out‑of‑the‑box preferred.
- Keep current with Furniture, Material, Finish, and Design trends for commercial interiors.
- Manage project‑specific budget, schedule, workload, and staffing with little Principal oversight.
- Create Construction Documents independently.
- Handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate within project teams and with vendors and consultants to produce successful design outcomes.
- Be motivated to participate in and support firm Business Development activities.
- Provide mentorship and leadership support to other team members.
Salary commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package, 401K plan, flexible work schedule, 10 paid holidays + Christmas‑New Years week.
Salary range: $95,000–$110,000
