Project Architect

San Francisco-based architecture firm with over 30 years of experience shaping the urban fabric of California is seeking a Project Architect to join their studio. This woman-owned design firm with over 30 designers and architects on staff primarily focuses on designing community facilities and affordable housing with social responsibility and passion for architectural excellence. The studio has received over 50 awards recognizing its commitment to design excellence in multi-family housing, education, civic, senior living, and commercial projects.

This award-winning studio is searching for architects with strong design and technical expertise to help shape their studio and create durable and sustainable buildings that exceed expectations! The collaborative design studio is committed to developing, inspiring, and valuing its staff by welcoming their involvement throughout the design and construction processes, coupled with countless opportunities for growth, mentorship, and leadership. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded project architect with construction administration experience, strong technical skills, and knowledgeable in the multi-family housing sector.

Qualifications preferred candidates will have:

  • 9 to 15+ years of extensive professional experience (open to senior level candidates)
  • Exceptional technical proficiency and a proven track record in coordinating consultants
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-family housing, particularly type I and type III construction (affordable housing preferred)
  • Possesses a keen design sensibility
  • Exemplifies integrity in all aspects of work
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player
  • Experience leading teams of 2-4
  • Proficient in Revit software
  • Skilled in hand drawing and sketching
  • Effective presentation abilities, with proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Sketch Up
  • Capable management skills to lead and guide projects
  • Preference for experience in multi-family housing
  • Licensure is preferred but not mandatory
