Architectural Designer

Piechota Architecture is an architecture studio based in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, focusing on high-end residential design. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Architectural Designer to join our tight-knit team. This role works directly with the principal and project architects. You'll contribute to all phases of design, from conceptual sketching through construction administration, while developing your craft in a studio that values creativity, initiative, and thoughtful design.

• Prepare and develop architectural documents, including elevations, sections, and construction details using Archicad and other design software
• Collaborate with Project Architects to understand and adhere to project work plans and timelines
• Participate in all phases of project delivery, from schematic design through construction administration
• Coordinate with consultants and project team members to ensure design integrity and quality
• Create presentation materials and design drawings for client reviews
• Conduct research on building codes, zoning regulations, materials, and sustainable design practices
• Attend site visits and provide in-field support during construction phases
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet aggressive project deadlines
• Contribute creative design concepts and problem-solving approaches to project challenges

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
• 1-3 years of professional experience post grad
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD preferred (not required)
• Demonstrated expertise in Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  Understanding of building systems, construction methods, and materials
• Awareness of building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility standards and required research
• Strong technical drawing and detailing skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Interest in materiality, craftsmanship, and the integration of architecture with its environment

The compensation range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience, portfolio quality, and considering market factors.
